In the darkness is where I lay the troubles of hardened days
Protected under the cover of night, wings safely on display
Absent is the fear from those who judge and criticize
Divergence from communal norms, garnering exquisite prizes
Cloaked behind the reassuring security of the shadows
Excluding the self-confident one who challenged and followed
Authority known, my will crushed under the weight of the stare
Possessive acceptance fills the air and is nearly more than I can bear
Uncertainty makes an attempt to creep in that I futilely try to I hide
Earning me a severe reprimand under an unyielding hand
Inflaming nerve-endings with shocks of dancing, hot electricity
Alternating gentle caresses upon my skin dispels the toxicity
Restraints embrace the uninhibited spirits, which is immanent
Inside the darkness impediments are irrelevant this is evident
Kelly – Deep, dark, sinister and enchanting. I’ve read Darkness Embraced twice already, and I am about to read it again.

I wanted to say more, but I could think of nothing to add. Well, besides gushy “Gosh I love your writing” stuff. 😉
