Undress the stress
And its suffocating layers
It isn’t doing me any favors
Covered in high expectations
Ruining my immune system
Restricting the passageways
Leading toward a mini vacation
That I’ve already booked & paid
It’s time for a home remedy
With a fresh plea, God help me
Wished into a steaming-hot mug
Lemon and a heap load of honey
Mixed with two shots of whiskey
It’ll magically sanitize my sanity,
So I can rest easy and breathe
Monthly Archives: April 2016
Sedentary
Silently working against us
Every hour of productivity
Spent with physical enemy
Zaps all the mental energy
Without any of the pleasantries
Defeated army of office butts
Sitting on fast growing asses
Deciding to take off the glasses
Moving through sticky molasses
Until the stiffness passes
30-minutes a day won’t be enough
Detention
Statistics claimed another victim
Putting a kid through the system
Perpetuating products of society
Convicting youth to crime sprees
A revolving door to stop in prison
Holding Onto Forever
I want to hold hands
Until you are an old man
Do you understand
It’s not for today,
Or tomorrow, that won’t do
I want all the years
Fingers tightly laced
Together getting us through
Everything in life

Scythe (repost)
At the twilight
Under a magical guise
Carrying her enchanted scythe
She moved stealthily throughout the night
Tracking down the corrupted and served destruction
Under the pretense that she was the bearer of the righteous light
At morning’s dawn, she laid down her blade, and prayed for the pain to go away.
Lethal
Welcomes the end
Strapped upright
Fastened real tight
Time now suspends
Secured for a show
Through a window
Procedures begin
Heart palpitations
Hyperventilation
Onlookers cringe
Justifying his sins
Sight
I’ve got 20/20 vision
And I’ve seen the future
In focus with precision
You’re always staring in it
Playing drama and humor
On my lifelong television
