Swim Out of Grey

Grey Ocean

Robotic mundane ways lived out each day

Going through the motions upon the tides

Moves fluidly past life that slips and slides

Before your eyes taking each blow in stride

Drifting further away, cloaked in dark haze

Losing sight of the shore, lost in the grey

Forced to look inside for personal guide

When the shoreline completely disappears

All things that seem to matter become clear

Stop fighting the viscous currents and swim

With determination using all limbs

To reach for your own destiny and win

It’s never too late to find your way back

If you need help, it is okay to ask

~Sonnet, maybe?

“I’m just a girl in the world…that’s all you’ll let me be...” Southern California Native who gets in trouble for sarcasm, suffers from bouts of OCD, and listens to an eclectic range of music really, really loud especially while driving too fast. Turn up the Rap, R&B, Punk, Billy, Indie, Alternative, Classic, Folk, Metal, and Grunge, Melodic, Industrial, Electronic, Soul and so on you get the point.

    1. It is 14 lines with 10 syllables each, but I wasn’t certain of the rhyming pattern… if there’s some flexibility there then I nailed it. 🙂 Thank you for reading and commenting.
