I is for… Inside
Inside
Abandoned
In the black
A place to hide
Windows sealed
Entry boarded up
No trespassing sign
Solid walls constructed
Keeping up my defenses
Restricting your entrance
Posting ignored
Boundary breached
A human battleground
Wielded determination
Resolve, strength and kindness
Pulled me out of the sheltered segregation
Easing the pain and sorrow with reassuring words
Encouraged
Quiet comfort
Patiently waiting
Speaking to me with words
Hearing and responding to my fears
Wrapped securely in your arms and world
Showered with unwavering love and affection
Is how you moved inside my world, head and heart
Excellent dialectic game of the pair of opposites inside outside. Very well written ! Best wishes, Aquileana 🙂

I love this. The fear of possible pain slowly giving way to trust. And the shape of the words also looks as if an “opening up” is occurring. 🙂

Thank you! I’m glad you can see the shape because that’s about all I had going in this. Trust is the hardest thing to give another I think, and once it’s lost forget about it.

Yep, that’s right. Your piece has spurred me on to draft a poem on that theme for tomorrow’s bit. Having trouble settling the mind, though!
